Training for Horses

Positve Reinforcement Based Training & Compassionate Care for Our Equine Friends

What You Will Learn and Accomplish...

  • The horse has choices. He/she makes the decisions on what they need and how they would like to be trained.

  • How to change the horses’ environment to enhance the life of your horse. These changes can make big differences in the horses’ behavior and well-being.

  • Recognizing horse behaviors. I can help you in understanding what your horse is trying to tell you. For a horse that is exhibiting undesirable behaviors, there is always a good reason for it.

  • How to involve Science-Based Positive Reinforcement in the horses’ training program and how to practice this in your horses’ day-to-day activities.

According to what you and your horse needs I will build an easy-to-follow plan that gets results. Often times working on “1” behavior at a time will help build the foundation for confidence and relationship building for the two of you. I will always honor both you and your horses' journey, it’s not about me, it’s about the two of you.

I work with what is Causing the Behavior? What is the horse Accomplishing by Doing this Behavior? What can we do to help the horse Do a More Desirable Behavior?

Horses are just as unique as we are, and from my experience, I've found that most of them are longing for connection.

If you would like to explore the possibility of working together, I would love to learn more about you and your horse in a free 15-minute phone consultation.

"My ten-year-old son came to Kendra feeling stressed out, discouraged by his schoolwork, and interested in little more than video games.  But over the months he's spent working with Kendra and the horses, I've watched a magical transformation take place:  his frustration and disinterest have been replaced by a new sense of calm and purpose.  Not only has my son learned valuable horsemanship skills with Kendra and Red, but he's also benefited greatly from the therapeutic aspect of caring for the horses.  Kendra is knowledgeable, encouraging, and incredibly patient.  She carefully tailors each session to my son's skill level, so that he feels challenged but never pushed.  And amazingly, the horses are equally sensitive to my son's needs.  They are intuitive guides who nudge my son toward becoming a confident leader in all that they do.  As my son's groundwork improves, his faith in his own ability soars.  It's been wonderful to watch him realize that he can succeed and form meaningful relationships -- with horses and people alike."
