Caring for Ourselves & Our Equine Friends

Being Our Best Selves for Our Horses

Updated: Mar 9

It's really not about training horses, it's about training ourselves, becoming our best selves. Horses know everything we are thinking and feeling, even more than we know about ourselves at times. Therefore, being authentic is of upmost importance. But how do we do this? In blogs to follow, I'll continually give tips and ideas.

In this pic this little girl has pure joy in being with this horse. Oh the innocents and purity of youth! We can get back to this point of youth with pure of heart and authenticity. It takes time and please let's not be hard on ourselves, it's all about the journey and life's lessons along the way. If your reading this blog you already care!

One of the first self help books that changed my life is: The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. This was the beginning in working on my authenticity.

  1. Be impeccable with your word

  2. 2. Don't take anything personally

  3. 3. Don't make Assumptions

  4. 4. Always do your best

I can easily interpret the above agreements to horses and of course our daily life. If one works on these 4 things you are on the road to a mindful authentic you!
