Support For Parents

How To Find The Right Trainer For Your Child

Why do parents need support?

Do you know what questions to ask before hiring a trainer?

Do you want to know how to identify the qualities of a safer horse?

How can you be sure that your child(ren) will learn compassionate horse care?

These are big questions and the internet has many answers, but you and your child(ren) are unique.

I truly love working with parents because I believe in the wonderful gifts that horses have to offer children and I also know that, as a parent who wants the best for their children, it can be hard to determine exactly what that is going to be - especially in a field that you may not know much about.

Deciding who to trust and where to spend your money can be challenging and even the best of intentions can be met with undesired results.  I want your family to have the best horse experience possible so that your child(ren) can have the magical horse-bonding experience they desire and so that your family can learn and grow together through this experience as well.

What to expect...

Horses are magical beings, and there is no reason to wonder why children are drawn to them, but so often, children are taught unfavorable practices which damages their chances to truly cultivate a deep and meaningful relationship with their horse and they miss out on so much of the experience.

When I work with parents, i always take into consideration the unique person your child is and what is motivating them to learn more about horses.  Then I educate and assist you in preparing to find the best trainer or program for your child that will support their education.

I will teach you about horse safety and how to vet a trainer so that your family will have the best experience possible.

I also offer free 15-minute consultations so that we can quickly chat to determine if we will be a good fit for working together.  To book a session, please click below.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

"My ten-year-old son came to Kendra feeling stressed out, discouraged by his schoolwork, and interested in little more than video games.  But over the months he's spent working with Kendra and the horses, I've watched a magical transformation take place:  his frustration and disinterest have been replaced by a new sense of calm and purpose.  Not only has my son learned valuable horsemanship skills with Kendra and Red, but he's also benefited greatly from the therapeutic aspect of caring for the horses.  Kendra is knowledgeable, encouraging, and incredibly patient.  She carefully tailors each session to my son's skill level, so that he feels challenged but never pushed.  And amazingly, the horses are equally sensitive to my son's needs.  They are intuitive guides who nudge my son toward becoming a confident leader in all that they do.  As my son's groundwork improves, his faith in his own ability soars.  It's been wonderful to watch him realize that he can succeed and form meaningful relationships -- with horses and people alike."
